The North Cape – at the end of the world
Where: Tromsø Airport Langnes
What: The world’s northernmost mainland point
Content: The North Cape rises up 308 metres, proud and strong, out of the arctic Barents Sea.
Each year, several thousand tourists come and visit the end of the world. The Globe that was erected in 1978 is itself a symbol of the North Cape. The North Cape has much to offer throughout the year. During summer, you can experience the North Cape in the radiant midnight sun, while during the winter you can witness the Aurora Borealis, the wonderful Northern Lights. Besides being the world’s northernmost mainland point, the region offers a range of experiences: Lappish culture, dog sledding, snowmobile safari, border safari and diving in the Barents Sea.
